Happy Chinese New Year!
It has been Arts Week in Sparks class, our theme was Chinese New Year. The children have done a fantastic job at creating lots of super things.
In Sparks we have been learning about The Three Little Pigs.
The children have had lots of fun recreating the story and creating lots of lovely things to help them to remember the story.
Sparks have had a fantastic week doing lots of Christmas activities and preparing for our Christmas holidays.
The children made and decorated their own gingerbread men to give as gifts to their friends and family, they also made some beautiful cards. We enjoyed our visit from Santa and he said that Sparks were all so good that he would bring them even more presents on Christmas Eve. We finished the week by having a lovely Christingle service and the children each got to take home their Christingle.
Well done to all the Children in Sparks class for a great term! The children are looking forward to welcoming our new starters in January.
Merry Christmas from Sparks!
We have had a fantastic week in Sparks getting ready for Christmas time!
The children have been working on their number recognition using advent calendars. We have written our letters to Santa and posted them. We have been learning about the Christmas nativity story and all the children have done a great job rehearsing for our own nativity show. Our Christmas tree looks very festive after the children worked hard to decorate it, we even had a go at making some of our own decorations.
For Children in Need the children made Pudsey Bear biscuits to sell to raise money. We made the biscuits together and then decorated them, they must have been yummy because we sold them all! The children also had a great time doing lots of Children in Need activities throughout the day, in their fancy dress. We had lots of fun raising money for a brilliant cause! A big thank you to all the children and their families for their generosity, time and donations.
Tuesday 15th November
Today Sparks Reception and Nursery went into the woods for an autumn walk. The children are learning about autumn and the seasons so it gave them a great opportunity to explore the woods and find out about autumn first hand. The children found lots of different things and collected them to bring back to class so that we could share them together. We saw how the leaves on the trees had changed colour and we collected lots of different autumn items that had fallen from the trees. We all had a great time exploring the woods in our wellies!
